The best time to plant a shade tree is about 20 years ago.
I use E-Trade because they take your personal security seriously, and you can invest at your own pace.
If you ask I will tell you but I am not trying to sell you on any one good Growth Stock Mutual Fund.
Once you have selected a handfull that have a 10-20 year track record. Now you can begin a comparison.
This is long term investing so dont get to excited about massive returns. Insted focus on the dips. Pull up the chart and look at the years around 2001 when the dot com buble burst and see how far they dropped. Now look at the years around 2008 and see how far they dropped and how long it took for them to recover. Its okay to "lose" money during those time periods because everyone was loosing money duing those times. Remember "Scared money doesn't win at the poker table" and "You only loose money in the stock market if you sell your fund or stocks when its low"
